- Comments: Not only is the the first
walnut-topped Roscoe that BHB has ever done, but it
is also the first "faux neck-through" that
Roscoe has ever done. The figured (lightly flamed)
walnut and highly flamed maple used for the 5-piece
top are both absolutely stunning, and the color themes
running through the instrument make for a very classy
looking bass without being "over the top".
The birdseye used for the fingerboard is amazing,
and the bass sounds and plays great! Classic Roscoe
all the way!

- Myrtle burl 12th fret inlay
- Bartolini pickups
- Bartolini 3-band preamp
- Graphtech nut

- Comments: The myrtle burl top on
this LG is absolutely stunning. Myrtle has a terrific
iridescent quality, and it gleams and shimmers in
the light unlike most other wood species. However,
as amazing as this bass's top is, the exhibition grade
birdseye maple fingerboard is absolutely out of this
world. In fact, this has to be one of the best (if
not THE best) birdseye maple 'board I've ever seen
on a Roscoe!

- Comments This is a unique bass that
should catch the eye of someone looking for a "one
off" Roscoe. This project came about due to one
piece of interesting black limba that Keith Roscoe
had acquired. By bookmatching the piece with the sapwood
in, we were able to play on the two-toned color of
the wood as well as highlight the stripes and dark/light
color striations in the outer portions of the top.
Matched with a beautiful piece of swamp ash, this
turned out to be one great bass!

- Comments: Featuring one of Roscoe's most
popular colors, the exhibition quilt figure on this
top really pops, and it looks great next to the pau
ferro fingerboard. The electronics package is "new
school Roscoe" and would great for slapper or
fingerstyle players looking for the widest tonal palatte
possible.

- SKB 3005
- Swamp ash body
- Spalted/flamed maple top
- Maple/purpleheart/maple neck
- Pau ferro fingerboard
- Bartolini pickups
- Bartolini 3-band preamp
- Black hardware
- Custom case
- Comments: If you love the tone, playability,
and craftsmanship of Roscoe basses but prefer a more
conservative, traditional look, this SKB would be
an outstanding choice. The spalted/flamed maple top
is truely "exhibition" grade, and the color
of the stripped pau ferro fingerboard is an great
compliment to the natural, woody vibe of this bass.
Oh...and it sounds killer, too!

- The following pieces of figured myrtle are some
of the most amazing that I have ever seen. If you
look in the two Roscoe sold galleries, you will see
that we have sold some nice basses featuring some
top-notch myrtle tops, but I don't know if any of
them come close to these! All of these are currently
available for custom orders.
- Like the figured myrtle tops above, the following
maple tops are some of the most unique we have ever
had here at Blueberry Hill. We take great pride in
offering the very best exhibition quilt tops available.
If you're going to get a nice bass, it may as well
have a NICE top! The tops shown below are
not only incredibly unique, but many of them feature
multiple types of figureing: quilt, flame, curl, burl,
spalt, etc. All of these tops are currently available
for custom Roscoe projects.
- This piece of insanely figured walnut is on reserve
and is available for a custom order. Let us know if
you would like this top for your bass.
- This is an outstanding piece of exhibition quilted
burl maple. Call or e-mail if you would like to use
this for your own custom Roscoe.
- The exhibition figured maple tops below are some
of the best that I have seen in a long time. Figured
maple is relatively easy to come by, but the REALLY
nice pieces are becoming increasingly harder to find
and are also becoming more and more expensive. If
you like exhibition figured maple, I would definately
recommend claiming one of these for your custom Roscoe
project.
